Sight Aid International

Sight Aid International is a multifaceted charity that has been set up to help raise awareness of vision issues, both locally and internationally. Since its inception in March 2010, Sight Aid International has eye tested over 5,900 people in some of the poorest areas of Kenya and supplied over 1400 pairs of prescription glasses free of charge.

Sight Aid International had a target of £10,000 to reach that would allow us to open an eye testing clinic in Kenya.

We managed to exceed this target and we now have our very own eye testing clinic in Nairobi, Kenya, which opened its doors on the 11th November 2013.
This was made possible with the help of kind donations made to us and various fundraisers that had taken place.

Now that our clinic in Kenya is up and running, we are now working on opening another clinic in Malawi on the 29th September 2014.

The public health clinic in Lilongwe is located in part of the former Lilongwe Town Hall which is located in the centre of Lilongwe.

The refurbishment was carried out in September 2013 by a team from City Building Glasgow, with the IT equipment supplied and funded by the Lord Provost's Malawi Fund. It includes a dental suite, opticians and water testing facility as well as the general health clinic.

We are now actively fundraising for this new clinic and any donations would be gratefully received to help us reach our new goal.
